Happy New Year to our readers! This year, we hope to bring you a variety of new columnist on our regular topics. We have made a head start with a fresh finance column on purchasing annuities by Satya Shaw, CPA, of Tampa (story, page 4). Also, guest writer Namrata Amin has written on “New Year New Beginnings” (story, page 14) and Kiron Senapati has made a contribution on “Making Drinking Water Safe.” (story, page 12)

Returning this month is our Profile, this one on Manoranjan radio show host Vinod Vasudeva of Central Florida. (story, page 17). And of course we have put together a list of India Republic Day (Jan. 26) and Makarsankrant (Jan. 14) festivities in Florida.
