“2 States” Chetan Bhagat’s book translates well on screen with a stellar supporting cast. Culture clashes ensue when a Punjabi boy seeks to marry a Tamilian girl.
“Bobby Jasoos” Vidya Balan proves her talents once again in this charming family entertainer as a Hyderabadi girl whose sole ambition is to be a top detective.
“Mary Kom” The inspiring story of Indian boxing champion MC Mary Kom is wonderfully portrayed by Priyanka Chopra and well told by Omung Kumar.
Dawaat-e-Ishq” This simple yet heartwarming original tale delights. The perfect chemistry between Anupam Kher, Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur is a treat to watch.
“Haider” Vishal Bharadwaj adapts Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Set in Kashmir, Shahid Kapoor powerfully plays the title role and Tabu’s stalwart talent is displayed as his mother.
“PK” Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Aamir Khan is perfect as a Bhojpuri-speaking alien on a spiritual odyssey raising questions essential to our times. Anuskha Sharma supports amazingly well, along with the entire cast.
