ORLANDO HOSTS KIRTAN CHANTING EVENTS

Nina Rao and Devadas chanted in Orlando to packed yoga houses of more than 100 people chanting each evening during their May 3-5 visit to Orlando. Gauri Aggarwal hosted one of the kirtan events at her home. Nina remarked that this was a rare event to sing kirtans with 'desi' folk.

As interest in yoga and meditation continues to increase in the West to epic proportions, so does the Bhakti Yoga practice of “kirtan” chanting. Nina Rao is the assistant of Krishna Das, who learnt bhakti yoga in India for nearly 40 years and now teaches it worldwide.

Nina and Devadas are the next generation of Western kirtan walah movement. They chant traditional mantras and play harmonium and drum. For more information about Nina, visit www.chantkirtan.com; for Devadas, visit www.devadasmusic.com
