JUNE 2018
Khaas Baat : A Publication for Indian Americans in Florida

Editor's Note

By NITISH S. RELE and SHEPHALI J. RELE

Despite the summer sizzling temperatures, we have several events in Florida, including the Swami Mukundananda talk June 2-8 in Tampa, “The Heartfulness Way to Joy” conference June 17, and Shreya Ghoshal concert on June 30, both in Orlando. As the fasting month of Ramadan comes to an end, we wish Eid Mubarak to our readers. Also, congrats to all the summer graduates.

This month, we profile Viji Reddy of Safety Harbor, multimedia artist, textile designer, painter, ceramist and founder of Alamwar Textiles. We also review two books: “Murder at the Grand Raj Palace” by one of our favorite authors Vaseem Khan and “A State of Freedom” by Neel Mukherjee. Plus, we have columns on health, fashion, immigration, motoring, and of course entertainment with movie previews of “Sanju” and “Veere Di Wedding.”

We welcome your story ideas and suggestions. Organizing an event in your community? Let us know by the 20th to be listed on our Events calendar. Khaas Baat is proud to be the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community. Do follow us on twitter @khaasbaat and join us on Facebook for details about late-breaking events.
