Nalanda EstatesGROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY HELD FOR NALANDA ESTATES IN PARRISH/BRADENTON

Nalanda Estates, LLC, broke ground recently to mark the start of construction of its upscale gated retirement community in Parrish/Bradenton. The 30-acre site is strategically located with easy access to Tampa, Sarasota and St. Petersburg with proximity to some of the best beaches in Florida. The site is situated close to major airports, hospitals, shopping malls, restaurants and museums.

Nalanda Estates will have 83 homes ranging from 1,730 square feet of one-level paired villas to estate homes from 2,300 square feet of living space to about 3,240 square feet estate homes on large lots with two- or three-car garages. Amenities will include a large clubhouse with banquet hall, full commercial kitchen, fitness center, theater, cards room, prayer room and a wine/snack bar. Outside amenities will include a swimming pool, Zen garden, pickleball court, walking trails and more. Pre-construction bookings are open. Model homes and several early buyer homes will be ready for move-in by November 2017.

Lord JhulelalLORD JHULELAL IDOL TO BE INSTALLED AT SANATAN MANDIR IN TAMPA

Lord Jhulelal, revered and worshiped by the Sindhi community worldwide, will soon have a home in Tampa. A murti donated by the Sindhi Society of Central Florida will be installed at Sanatan Mandir in Tampa. Lord Jhulelal's Incarnation/birthdate will be celebrated on March 29, the first new-moon day of the month of Chaitra, according to the Hindu calendar. This is also celebrated as Sindhi New Year, thus the name Chetichand.

About 200-250 people usually attend Chetichand, which the Sindhi community in West and Central Florida has been celebrating in Lakeland for 20 years. This year, festivities will be from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on April 2 at Lake Parker Park, Blue Heron Pavilion, 910 Granada St., Lakeland. All future Chetichand celebrations will be in Tampa.
