By NITISH S. RELE and SHEPHALI J. RELE

Hope your finest garba garb is ready. Navratri is just around the corner as you can see from our coverage on page 1. After the festival of nine nights comes the 26th annual daylong India Festival on Oct. 26 in Tampa. And as Diwali nears on Nov. 2, some Florida communities are celebrating the Festival of Lights in late October. This month, we review the cookbook “The Ingredients Matter: India.” We sat down with one of the Tampa Bay area authors, Urmi M. Patel.

Also returning are our Under the Cover book reviews of “Stories from My Heart” by Dr. Ravindra Nathan, “Are you Indian?” by Sanjit Singh, “The Bhagavad Gita” by Gavin Flood and Charles Martin and “How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia” by Mohsin Hamid.

Community organizers, remember to drop us an e-mail about future events in your town and join us on Facebook for details about late-breaking events. Khaas Baat is proud to be the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community.
