Lest we forget, it is still Dandiya time as Navratri/Durga Puja activities continue into the first weekend of October. Upcoming activities include the “Beyond Bollywood: 25th annual South Asian Film Festival” Oct. 12-14 In Orlando. Other notable events are the Akshaya Patra Tampa benefit gala on Oct. 13, sitar concert performed by Anupama Bhagwat on Oct. 18 in Fort Myers and the free annual health fair organized by Indian Physicians of South Florida Oct. 20 in South Florida. This month, we bring you reviews of four must-read books: Salman Rushdie’s “Quichotte “Autumn Light: Season of Fire and Farewells” by Pico Iyer, “Haunting Paris” by Mamta Chaudhry and “Three Ways to Disappear” by Katy Yocum.
