FLORALS, RAW SILK SUITS BACK IN STYLE!

Let the holiday season begin! Poojas and parties, dinners and gatherings, there will be so many beautiful occasions coming and such lovely memories to make and cherish – let’s celebrate and remember them all in style, too!

Florals, Florals Everywhere

It’s almost fall, but summer florals are more in style than ever! Large colorful designs are primarily the look, but small block prints are good, too. Just remember not to overpower the look with too many colors. Containing two to four different shades is a good thumb rule to follow.

A plain sari blouse in black will look just breathtaking in a floral pink, white and yellow sari. The more sheer the sari, the lighter and more airy the look, but silks can work in events at night or colder climates.

Churidaars and salwar kameezes are covered in florals, mostly throughout the kameez and a trim of work here and there on the churidaar or dupatta. Lenghas, too, are wanting to be part of the garden! Filled with pretty rose, orchid and hibiscus patterns, they bring about an air of delicateness and prettiness.

Scared you’ll look like a potted plant? Not to worry, start with details or accessories. A floral sari blouse with solid colored sari or solid hued kameez with a floral dupatta can still move you from normal to wow, but subtly.

Raw Silk, Refined Silk

Traditional raw silk suits are back in, with straight cigarette pants, mostly ankle cropped. The look sounding a bit too fashion fusion? It is, but with even more traditional refinement built in than ever! A long narrow kameez rests on the skinny pants. All in raw silk for ultimate royal texture feels. Indian sandals or shoes, large earrings and lots of bangles accompany. The finishing touch? A large, preferably round bindi – just gorgeous!

Princess Earrings

Earrings are huge. From runways to magazines, movies and TV, the bigger the earrings, the bigger in style points!

Traditional golden or oxidized gold umbrella jhumke are back. Round and enameled minakari looks, too. Just avoid chained styles, the ones that lead from the back of the earring and loop around your ear, hair, etc. It’ll have you looking straight from bombshell to bride!

Enjoy every reason and season in your life. Holidays come and go, so celebrate always. You can fill every day with love, laughter and light. And as always, remember to ‘gro’ with style!
