BENGALI SOCIETY CELEBRATES SARASWATI PUJA
More than 250 people attended daylong Saraswati Puja celebrations Feb. 8 at India Cultural Center in Tampa. The event, hosted by Soikot, the Bengali Society of Tampa Bay, began with puja, anjali, haate-kodi, prasad, and concluded with evening snacks and dinner. After lunch, community members presented performances, including songs, recitations and dances.
Looking ahead, Sokot will celebrate Durga Puja Oct. 3-5 at ICC Hall. On Oct. 5, the organization will feature renowned Bollywood singer Madhubanti Bagchi, celebrated for hit songs in Hindi films such as “Heeramandi,” “Stree 2,” “Love Aaj Kal,” as well as several popular Bengali movies.
