This dramatic thriller produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra kicks off 2016. It tells the tale of two unlikely friends, a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster known as Panditji, played by Amitabh Bachchan and brave Anti-Terrorist Squad officer Daanish Ali, played by Farhan Akhtar. They are brought together by tragedy, grief and a twist of fate. Aditi Rao Hydari stars as Ruhana Ali, officer Daanish’s wife. The two men resolve to help each other win the most important game of their lives. Neil Nitin Mukesh is Wazir, the mysterious dangerous opponent waiting in the shadows. Chopra says it took five years to complete this script and the multi-talented Farhan Akhtar went through intense training to prepare for his role. Reports say Bachchan found the role particularly challenging because he was unable to use his legs to portray the character. The refreshing soundtrack is sure to be popular.
