Tampa�s Indo-US Chamber of Commerce will hold its sixth annual Golf Invitational on
Friday, July 27. The tournament will take place at The Eagles Golf Club, 16101 Nine Eagles
Drive in Odessa. Since membership into the Indo-US Chamber of Commerce is free, the
tournament is one of two fundraisers the organization holds throughout the year to sponsor
its monthly meetings. The cost for the tournament is $100, which includes your green and
cart fees, lunch, awards dinner, foursome photo, on-course beverages, range balls, and
much more.

Bollywood singers Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik will perform a musical concert Sunday,
July 8 in South Florida.
The event at B.C.C. Omni Auditorium, 1000 Coconut Creek, will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets
are $30, $40, $55, $75, $100 and VIP. The emcee for the evening will be Mona Singh of
�Jassi� fame, who also will present dances.

MELBOURNE TEMPLE HOLDS BHOOMI PUJAN, GAYATRI HAVAN
Fifty couples participated and more than 300 devotees attended a Gayatri Havan June 3
during Bhoomi Pujan for the proposed Manav Mandir in Melbourne.
Planning for the 10,000-square-foot complex at Waeltri Drive began six months ago. At
least 12 deities will be installed at the temple, which also will include a priest residence,
kitchen, weekend food sale and a private worship room.

Entrepreneur and community leader Dr. Pawan K. Rattan was recently recognized for his
involvement in helping strengthen relationships between the India and the United States.
A Tampa resident for more than 20 years, Rattan serves as chairman of the Asian American
Physicians of Indian origin (AAPI) Alumni Committee. As a result, he has spent extensive
time in India meeting with political and medical college leaders. Earlier this year, Rattan
spent a month visiting five colleges in Madhya Pradesh. While in the Central Indian state, he
forged a relationship with its Chief Minister Sivraj Singh Chouhan.
