There has been a rash of home burglaries among the Indian American community in Florida, especially the Tampa Bay area. We invited a veteran law enforcement officer Bob Libengood to write a column offering tips on home security (see page 6). In her monthly column, attorney Gail Seeram notes that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has proposed an increase in filing fees for immigration applications and petitions. Please read her column on page 6. If you know of an accomplished student who just graduated from high school or college, we would like to hear about it. Send the students name, contact information and a brief paragraph highlighting their accomplishments and future plans to be featured in an upcoming issue. Include a photo if you like and e-mail everything to [email protected] with graduate in the subject line. Community organizers, remember to drop us an e-mail about future events in your town. Remember, Khaas Baat is the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community.
