Editor's Note

By NITISH S. RELE and SHEPHALI J. RELE

Happy Holi to our friends and readers! The vibrant festival of colors will be celebrated in several Florida communities. India Festivals continue in the Sunshine State with one in Melbourne on March 10-11 and the Naples event on March 24. There also is an Asian Trade, Food Fair and Cultural Show March 17-18 in West Palm Beach. Singer Mika Singh returns to Orlando for another thrilling concert on March 31. And our Under the Cover column features book reviews of “Our Time Has Come: How India is Making its Place in the World” by Alyssa Ayres, “The Milk Lady of Bangalore: An Unexpected Adventure” by Shoba Narayan, and “Engineering a Life – A Memoir” by Krishan K. Bedi. This month’s Motoring test-drive reviews are the Buick Enclave, Cadillac CTS, Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Hyundai Elantra.

National attention has been focused on our state with the horrific event at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. We are hopeful for the well-being of the community, students and educators in that region as they grieve, heal and move forward. We encourage our readers to be informed citizens and actively participate in national, state and local legislative affairs.

Have a column or topic you feel strongly about? Send us a letter to the editor. Organizing an event in your community? Let us know by the 20th to be listed on our Events calendar. Khaas Baat is proud to be the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community.
