McArthur Farms, Inc., a dairy farm located in Okeechobee, FL, has two openings for an Animal Management Systems Specialist. Duties include studying effects of herd management practices, processing methods, feed, and environmental conditions on quality and quantity of milk production; developing and implementing improved practices related to feeding, housing, sanitation, milking, and parasite and general disease control; conducting research related to animal nutrition, breeding, and herd management to improve health and milk production; advising employer about improved products and techniques that could enhance herd and milk production; recommending and implementing procedures to improve health, milk production, and artificial insemination. Must have a Master’s Degree in Animal Production or the foreign equivalent degree. As an alternate requirement, the employer will also accept a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or the foreign degree equivalent. Must also have twelve months of international dairy farm training and comprehensive knowledge of animal artificial insemination.
