Khaas Baat : A Publication for Indian Americans in Florida

Editor's Note

By NITISH S. RELE and SHEPHALI J. RELE

Wishing our readers a very Happy Diwali and a Prosperous New Year full of peace, prosperity and happiness. Though some Florida communities already have held Diwali celebrations, there are still plenty of forthcoming Festival of Lights activities. We have coverage on pages 1 and 24.

And, of course, there are other cultural events coming up such as the World Fusion Concert ‘Music Masala’ Nov. 10 in Tampa, put up by Shruti A.I.M and the India Cultural Center. The ‘East meets West’ style concert boasts more than 30 musicians as well as a full Indian Vocal Choir under the direction of Shankhachur Lahiri. Also, we have reviewed the second cookbook “Healthy Indian Vegetarian Cooking” by Houston-based Shubhra Ramineni (story, page 26).

Community organizers, remember to drop us an e-mail about future events in your town and join us on Facebook for details about late-breaking events. Khaas Baat is proud to be the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community.
