The festival season is upon us. Rather, it already has begun. With Janmashtami just gone by, the remover of obstacles will be arriving on Sept. 7. Several West Central Florida temples and organizations are holding Ganesh Chaturthi events. Please plan on attending them.
Though its a little early, now is a good time to plan for Navratri celebrations. Check out all the times, dates and places organized by the Gujarati Samaj of Tampa Bay to celebrate this festival of nine nights.
We are kicking off yet another new column (story, page 10) on retirement planning. This one will be by Bijan Mohseni of the Business Planning Group of Tampa, who offers securities through AXA Advisors.
Also, Aakash Patel, a political science and English Literature double major at Florida State University has written about his experiences (story, page 14) as an intern for the Washington Leadership Program. Patel is a young and talented journalist who has previously written for the St. Petersburg Times. We look forward to more contributions from him.
