TiE Tampa PresentS ‘Anticipate’ for business entrepreneurs

Recently formed TiE Tampa Bay chapter began 2013 with “TiEbreaker II,” a networking and educational event held at the Dr. Kiran C. Patel Center for Global Solutions, University of South Florida.

More than 150 guests, including TiE Tampa Bay leadership, charter members and members, corporate partners, entrepreneurs, representatives from the area economic development and USF students, attended. “We were thrilled with the response, and diversity of attendees for this event,” said Kunal Jain, president, TiE Tampa Bay. 

Prior to the key speaker’s presentation, Patel College of Sustainability Dean Dr. Kalanithy Vairavamoorthy welcomed guests. USF Center for Entrepreneurship Dean Dr. Michael Fountain made opening remarks.

Guest speaker Jeff Tobe provided an enlightening and entertaining presentation based on his new book “ANTICIPATE: How Entrepreneurs know what their customers need before they do!” Tobe is considered to be a global authority on "applied creativity" in business and his workshop presents a structure for understanding and applying creative solutions desired by successful entrepreneurs globally.

INDIAN PHYSICIANS OF SOUTH FLORIDA TO HOST HEALTH FAIR MARCH 17

The Indian Physicians of South Florida (IPOF) will host their eighth annual free Health Fair Sunday, March 17, at the South Florida Hindu Temple. The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 13010 W. Griffin Road, Southwest Ranches, will feature more than 20 physicians representing various medical specialties for free consultation. Also, IPOF will conduct free blood pressure checkup, glucose, cholesterol checks, and dental, vision and hearing screenings. Every year, nearly 300 people are screened at the fair.

IPOF is an organization of more than 300 physicians of Indian origin based in South Florida. This year, IPOF has invited the local (non-Indian) community to participate.
