We wish our readers happiness and good health for Diwali and a prosperous New Year filled with peace.

We have put together a list of several Florida communities celebrating the Festival of Lights. May the lights of Diwali illuminate your world as you gather with your family and friends to rejoice during this auspicious time. However, we cannot overlook that there still are several other events in the Sunshine State, including the 23rd annual “Beyond Bollywood: South Asian Film Festival” (Oct. 7-9) in Orlando, Melodious Sounds of Sarod and Tabla (Oct. 7) in Fort Lauderdale and “Das Avatar” Odissi dance performance (Oct. 28) in Fort Myers. In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, we have an insightful account by Roshni Hannon.
