  EDITORS NOTE
By NITISH S. RELE AND SHEPHALI J. RELE - [email protected]

Cricket fans, your wish has been fulfilled. The MAQ T20 International Cricket Tournament will be held in Fort Lauderdale. Starting in May, the tourney will be played at the all-new Central Broward Regional Park. Tampa Bay area residents can take advantage of the India Night - Dances and Cuisines of India on May 10 at the India Cultural Center. Federation of Indian Associations of Tampa Bay President Krishan Batra is urging people to invite mainstream Americans to this showcase of Indianness, as he calls it. Also coming up is the Florida Telugu Sambaralu on May 31 at the Orlando World Center Marriott Convention Center. And we are kicking off another column, this one on cars. As gas prices peak up to $4 a gallon, there is a huge demand for small cars. We offer some of our recommendations after test-driving the fuel-sipping rides (story, page 13). Remember, Khaas Baat is the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community. Be sure to send information about an event in your community.

Do e-mail us at [email protected] with comments, suggestions and send us your community news and events before the 20th of every month.
