MAY 2016
Khaas Baat : A Publication for Indian Americans in Florida

Editor's Note

By NITISH S. RELE and SHEPHALI J. RELE

With graduation and wedding season around the corner, there are quite a few events coming up. Shankar Ehsaan Loy will present the only Florida concert this month, on May 13, in Fort Lauderdale. Then, on May 21, the first annual daylong 2016 Tampa Bay Indian Music & Dance Festival will be held. It has been put together by India Cultural Center and Shruti Foundation featuring classical musicians and dancers.

And, of course, there are quite a few Mother’s Day celebrations taking place on May 8. We have profiles of Rick Singh, Orange County Property Appraiser, who is up for re-election in August. It was indeed a pleasure chatting with talented painter Sanjit Datta of Tallahassee whose work is on exhibit at Venvi Art Gallery in the capital.
