NEWLY REDESIGNED CITIZENSHIP/NATURALIZATION EXAM 10/01/08

Gail S. Seeram
By GAIL S. SEERAM

A newly redesigned naturalization or citizenship test will be administered starting Oct. 1, 2008. However, if you file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, before Oct. 1, 2008 and your interview is after Oct.1, 2008 but before Oct. 1, 2009, then you have a choice of taking the current test or the redesigned (new) test.

However, if you file Form N-400 after Oct. 1, 2008 then you will be required to take the redesigned (new) test. USCIS will begin administering the redesigned (new) naturalization test on Oct. 1, 2008 in all offices nationwide.

Use the chart below to determine if you will take the current or redesigned (new) test.
