CREATIVE ART
Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
Last month, we learned about primary and secondary colors. In February, we will get acquainted with warm and cool colors. Colors, which give a feeling of warmth, are called warm colors. Shades of yellow that have red are warm colors. Colors, which give the feeling of coldness, are cool colors. Shades of yellow that have blue in them are cool colors. You can understand the color theory better with the help of this color wheel. It gives you a clear, diagrammatic picture of how your eyes actually “see” color.
This color wheel is created using just the three basic colors and their combinations.
Thumb-print art
In this technique, a design is created with thumb impressions. Color from a dish is taken on a thumb and transferred onto the paper by pressing the thumb on it. The tiny lines of the thumb give a textured effect to the painting. To get a proper texture, dab your thumb into the color. (not watery) after every 2 to 3 impressions on paper.
A variety of characters such as dinosaurs, deer, birds, cartoon face and lots more can be created using this technique.
You can create a beautiful Valentine's card using this technique in minutes. Remember: When it’s from HEART, its ART
Winners from the January competition will be announced in the March issue.
