TOMATO SAAR (Spicy Tomato Soup)

Ingredients
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
6 cups water
1 capful (1½ teaspoon) lime juice
1 tablespoon shredded coconut
1 green chili pepper
¼ teaspoon paprika (red chili powder)
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
2½ teaspoon salt
13 teaspoon Sugar (may substitute 12 teaspoons of Splenda)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
¼ teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
1/8 teaspoon turmeric powder

Preparation
Heat Vegetable oil in a two quart sauce pan. Add cumin, asafoetida and turmeric powder in the order given. When turmeric starts changing color, add water and tomato paste. Add remaining ingredients and bring it to a rolling boil. Let boil on medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes. Garnish with cilantro just before serving.

This Saar may be served as a soup or with rice.
