JULY 2011
Khaas Baat : A Publication for Indian Americans in Florida
Editor's Note

As you can see from our front-page article on the U.S. Census 2010, the Indian American community in Florida is growing by leaps and bounds. We wouldn’t be surprised if the number of Indians at 128,735 doubles in a decade when the next Census figures are released.

This month, three of our guest columnists are back! Founder and medical director of SevaMed Institute in Lutz, Dr. Shilpa Saxena points out there is plenty of proof to show that Integrative and Functional Medicine embody the medicine of the future (story, page 4). Orlando attorney Meenakshi A. Hirani highlights the importance of advance directives and estate planning (story, page 17) And Namrata Amin shares some helpful ways of dealing with the burdens of life (story, page 17)

Community organizers, remember to inform us about events planned in your town. We also accept letters to the editor. Remember, Khaas Baat is the ONE AND ONLY Sunshine State publication to offer comprehensive coverage of happenings in your Florida Indian community. We welcome your suggestions and feedback at editor@khaasbaat.com
